Simon Deacon

Chief Executive Officer

A dynamic, forward-looking entrepreneur, Simon established his first business over 25 years ago. Since then he has founded, acquired and grown multiple businesses in Lighting, Electronics, Display manufacture and co-founder of a Digital / Retail Consultancy, which has been adopted by numerous global retailers and brands in the retail sector.
Simon oversees the strategy of the business and is always looking for new opportunities to expand and grow the portfolio.
Andrew Hempsall

Chief Operating Officer

Andrew has 20 years of board level experience gained within Private Equity and Public Limited Companies, working with blue chip clients.
Andrew has led numerous cross functional teams with between 100 and 275 employees. With extensive operational and client-facing experience, Andrew has worked in 20 countries covering North America, the EU and Asia.
Andrew oversees the implementation of the strategy, ensuring that we have the best teams in place with efficient business processes and rigorous procedures.
Jim Snooks

Chief Financial Officer / Company Secretary

Holding extensive senior level accountancy experience and significant managerial experience, Jim has held varied various finance management positions for SME’s through to multi-million-pound group companies, across a wide range of industry sectors.
Starting his career within Operational Management, Jim qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) in 1997 and is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Amanda Bushell

Head of HR / Executive Assistant to the CEO

Amanda is Head of Human Resources responsible for implementing and maintaining the infrastructure of the Human Resources (HR) function across the portfolio of companies under the Light Science Technologies Holdings group of companies. Amanda is responsible for strategic planning and administration of HR related to recruitment, personal development, HR policies and procedures, benefits and employee communications.
Amanda is also Executive Assistant to the CEO, Simon Deacon, providing support to the leadership team.
Daryl Hollands

Group Management Accountant

An ACA Chartered Accountant, Daryl has considerable experience in every aspect of accounts including business taxation and IT/Finance system testing and implementation.
Reporting to Jim Snooks, Daryl assumes responsibility for the routine maintenance and preparation of management information, including the upgrade of finance systems to a common reporting platform to provide dynamic financial information to the Board.
Craig Price

Operations Director

Holding extensive operational and production experience from prior roles, Craig holds overall responsibility to manage the development and implementation of operation strategies across Light Science Technologies to ensure the company develops world class products and services.
John Matcham

Technical Director

With a hands on approach to development, John's vast experience has seen him in prior roles design and construct one of the world largest and most technologically advanced Vertical Farms.
John's role as Technical Director is to manage the development and implementation of technical strategies across Light Science Technologies to ensure that the company has a competitive edge with world leading products and services.
Lucy Clarke

Product Design Engineer

Lucy holds a degree in BSc (Hons) Product Design Engineering having graduated in June 2020 from University of Derby.
Lucy's role as Product Development Engineer focuses on using using Computer Aided Design, making ideas come to life by producing 3D models and 2D engineering drawings. An essential part of the design team, Lucy's role involves taking a product design from brief to design and onto production.
Sandra Paimbrekyte

Special Projects Coordinator

An International Business and Finance Graduate, Sandra has gained experience working in a supply chain planning department for two years while studying towards her degree.

Her new role will involve supporting teams across a variety of projects as well as assisting with software system implementation.

Marketing Director

As Marketing Director, Andy’s holds extensive product marketing experience, having worked both agency and client side for multinationals including Unilever and various start-ups.

Having previously helped deliver successful B2B marketing strategies and lead global digital transformation projects, Andy’s role see’s him implementing and overseeing the overall marketing strategy for all group companies.

Alice Brothill

Marketing & Communications Manager

Alice has over 10 years marketing experience and knowledge honed from holding a wide variety of marketing roles.
Blending a mix of creative, strategic and commercial marketing expertise, encompassing the full marketing mix across digital, print, promotion, social media and communications, Alice ensures consistent brand messaging through all activities for all group companies.
Linzi Naisbitt

Internal Sales Executive

In a newly created role, Linzi will draw on her extensive sales experience in the hospitality and events industry to work on new business lead generation and nurture relationships for all group companies. Linzi will focus on fostering and building client relationships through account management to support growth and development of LST and UKC.
Rob Ayres

National Account Manager

Rob joins as National Account Manager, with six years’ experience in agriculture and horticulture, along with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Horticulture from Nottingham Trent University. He is a former trials agronomist at contract research organisation Staphyt and laboratory testing services provider Eurofins. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in sales within the finance industry and motor trade.

In his new role, Rob will focus on building relationships in the glasshouse and poly tunnel sectors, as well as efficiently managing the continued increase in business.
